David’s SCI Story
Dr David Abrutat was injured in a RTA in March 2000 whist serving with the RAF. He sustained a T8 complete spinal cord injury and spent a year in hospital and rehabilitation before committing to giving something back by handcycling around Great Britain in 2002, which became a new World Record. This project helped recruit over 100k new blood donors for the National Blood Service. David is a military historian and has forged a new career in the discipline, and has published two books on the Second World War.
